Friday Fun!

Last Friday was a very busy day. Ms. Lee and Mrs. Allen were away from class in the morning in a workshop focusing on self-regulation. We learned many new strategies to help our students become better self-regulators, that we are excited to implement in the new year.
We all had fun wearing our pj’s and bringing our hibernating animals. We ate cupcakes to celebrate Thea’s birthday.
Miss. Martin planned lots of fun activities to celebrate her last day. One of the students favourite activities was leaning about how colours mix and make new colours. We tried this with icing and got to taste the icing in the end with cookies.
Finally we had a visit from Santa. Asher spotted him down the hall and the look on his face was amazing. Santa came down to visit our and it was an exciting time for everyone.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Our classroom smells and looks so clean now! Thanks so much to Stacey (Chelsea’s) mom for joining us last evening in our classroom to clean. All of the children will benefit from being in a cleaner, healthier environment now. Thanks again soooooo much!

Also – reminder that tomorrow is P.J. day/Hibernation Party to celebrate Miss. Martin’s last day!

Toy Cleaning Reminder

This is just a reminder that we will be hosting a toy cleaning evening in our class tonight from 6-7. This is a wonderful opportunity to help support your child and our class by making sure that the toys they are playing with are clean and free of germs. Since this is an after-school event, even if you are not on the school volunteer list, you are STILL able to join us. We ask that in order to make this run smoothly, children are not invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Thank you in advance for those who are able to attend and support this important evening that benefits every child in the class.

Hibernation Party

In celebration of Miss. Martin’s last day of teaching in our class we will be having pajama day at school on Friday, December 12.

Students are asked to wear their pajamas to school and bring their favourite teddy bear or stuffed animal. Look for an animal that hibernates, migrates, or adapts to Canada’s cold winters if possible! We will be using our stuffed animals for fun activities!

We will be thanking Miss. Martin and wishing her good luck as she finishes her education and starts her career as a teacher!!

Toy Cleaning Evening

On Wednesday evening from 6-7 we are inviting parents in to help assist us in doing a full clean of our classroom toys before the Christmas holidays. Refreshment will be provided and we ask that children we left at home.

Also thank you to Jennifer, Laura-Lea, Kristy, Wanda, Robin and Carrie for helping make our craft day last week run so smoothly.
